It's also prudent to go to "regedit" and remove all traces of your last attempted install. Heads up: If this is the case you'll have to go into "control panel/ uninstall" to root out all possible culprits and remove them. If you have junk apps which have inadvertently downloaded along with useful stuff, they may "hook" your browser and for what ever reason, mess with VideoStudio. It was actually the function but seemed to be the install. The problem was (though I clean out junk continually) I had a browser "add on" which, though disabled, was interfering with the install of my program.
